The Clay County Documentary Project is an attempt to create a collection of early Twenty-First Century photographs that will serve as an archive of images featuring the landscape and culture of this small rural Appalachian community in far Western North Carolina. It is my intention that this ever-growing collection serve as a digital archive for use by anyone interested in Clay County. The images are available for editorial, research, and educational use at no charge. This offer does not include commercial use. See the links on individual image pages for more information about image use. The photographs are not model or property released unless otherwise noted on the individual image page.

To search this project archive, enter CCDP plus your search term in the search box in the black bar near the top of the page (for example, CCDP courthouse). This should limit the search results to Clay County Documentary Project images only.

If you would like to use any of the photographs displayed here for non-commercial purposes, please do, but please make sure to properly credit us. All material from the Clay County Documentary Project used for reproduction or illustrative purposes must be accompanied by the following credit line: Courtesy of the Clay County Documentary Project
