Photography is my passion and I love to explore and find new places to photograph. In a State with 60 National Parks, Monuments, Recreation Areas, Historic Sites, and State Parks you would have to be a bad photographer not to take some very good pictures. On the other hand, a great photographer can take an ordinary subject and through the use of light and composition make a great photograph. There are many unique, wondrous, and beautiful things all around us. I like to revel in the ordinary which means to see the beauty where others don’t, marveling at the uniqueness of something that others pass by, and enjoying the natural would around us.

For those who follow Fred, you may have noticed he has not posted any pictures in the last few months. I'm sad to let you know that he died on March 11, 2018. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on February 6th. He loved photography and he loved sharing it with you. Follow your passion and make something ordinary, extraordinary. Fred's memory lives on in his photographs. -Denise Holley

    Two Dragons - @robthomasphoto says:

"As is often the case, Fred spotted one of my photos and kindly posted a comment. I then visited his portfolio.
All I can say is look through his work!
I still use film as well as digital, and was pleased to see that Fred does the same. He demonstrates wonderful technical ability, as well as having a great eye for composition.
He also takes the time - and it is often very time consuming! - to provide the technical details to his shots. This is incredibly helpful to anyone who asks, and I think we all do at some stage, 'how did he/she do that?'
For anyone looking to improve, or take different photos of landcapes, keep an eye on Fred's work!
And thanks for the inspiration, Fred!"
