Living in Germany near Stuttgart I started diving in 2001 during my first holidays to the Red Sea (Egypt). Soon I got addicted to the underwater world and I decided to improve my scuba skills by doing advanced courses and later on attending a scuba instructor educational program. I was certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2005.

Being fond of wildlife in general and the marine life in particular and in order to capture my underwater experience for family and friends back home I began to practice underwater photography in 2003. Beginning with a small Canon PowerShot A70, I have owned several digital cameras and matching (OEM) underwater housings over the years. I have never been using a SLR, though. I will leave this for the future or in case I once might decide to go semi-pro.

As I solely dive in tropical waters my diving is closely linked to travelling. During my vacation getaways I have visited many beautiful and exotic destinations and dived on some of the most exiting spots around the world like

Great Barrier Reef (Australia)

Ningaloo Reef (Australia)

Florida Keys (USA)

Monterey Bay (USA)

Vilamendhoo (Maldives)

Diani Beach (Kenya)

Similan Islands (Thailand)

Cozumel Island (Mexico)

Red Sea (Egypt)

Sulawesi/Bunaken & Bali (Indonesia)

Panglao/Cabilao/Negros/Malapascua (Philippines)

But there are still a lot of blank spots left on my diving map and lots of places to visit on my bucket list….

...stay tuned!
