I hope you enjoy my photographs. I will often permit use of my photos if you ask. Please ask if you want to use one of my photos. I don't mind as long as you give credit where credit is due.

I have been a Flickr enthusiast since 2008. I have uploaded roughly 10,000 photos and am nearing 8 million views. I have about 200 Explore photos.

I have been shooting insects now for about ten years. I try never to harm them. On occasion I will photograph a dead insect but have never deliberately killed an insect just to take its photograph.

When I walk the fields I sometimes carry both the Cannon 7D and 5D. I keep my 180mm Macro on the 5D and the 65 MP-E on the 7D. I sometimes use a monopod when the lenses are heavy. Both cameras are fitted with ring flash.

Welcome. I enjoy interacting and make a point of carefully checking out photostreams that show interest in mine. I rarely have the time to come back for a thorough check at a later date. If we are contacts that means I have checked you out and would like to keep in touch over the years. Please don't take it personally if I don't visit your site regularly.

I am an amateur photographer and sometimes physician. I recently lost my wife to depression. I am grateful father of three healthy children and four grandchildren. I like music, and exercise by gardening and taking care of my tree farm. I like to sing and play guitar and piano.

Photography is my passion. I blame the digital camera. Flickr helped me find my niche, hone my skills, and learn new vistas. I love Flickr for how it has helped me become a better photographer through interaction with photographers around the world. It is truly an amazing experience.

Macro-photgraphy offers a whole different perspective. “It's as large as life, and twice as natural!” Lewis Carroll

Photography has taught me to pay closer attention to the world around me. The world changes constantly and through our cameras we are able to freeze moments in time. We get to study the details that might otherwise escape our powers of observation. With practice and skill and luck we learn to capture the beauty and spirit of existence. What a joy!

It is now more than six years that I have been using the power of the digital camera to help me to admire the amazing Creation that lives just beyond the clear perception of my senses. You know what I mean ... all those little creatures and plants that we know are there but can't really appreciate because they are a little too small or move a little to fast. Macrophotography is truly a great way to capture and share the marvels of this "middle" world.

Flickr has become a passion in my life. I get to share my photographs with people like you and the feedback lets me know what resonates. In other words, Flickr is like a school of shared experience that helps me to grow. I enjoy meeting people from around the world and hope to be able to form lasting relationships about our common interest of photography.

As I have aged I have tried to become a better listener and to tune into feelings. If you have a question or want me to look at one of your photos just ask. I might add that we learn in Flickr by giving constructive criticism. That means take a chance and really say what you are thinking in a kind way.

"Dr Moto has taken some of the best macro photos on flickr. Each of his photos is beautiful or shocking - and often times both. The creatures he is able to capture and the way he manages to capture them is amazing. He is truly talented and I know where to go when I am in the mood to view wonderful macros."
