Charlie Saceda has worked as a photojournalist in western Mindanao for 10 years already, basing himself mostly in Zamboanga City where he was born and grew up. As a photojournalist, Charlie's coverage highlights includes the war in Lanao, military offensives in Basilan and Sulu, the Abu Sayyaf group wherein he stayed with them as for three days, bombings, terrorism and other lawlessness in western Mindanao to include Tawi-Tawi. Charlie also covered the former President Joseph Estrada's impeachment and the Philippine People Power Revolt II.

With this, he was able to publish photos in the past in international magazines like Time Magazine and the defunct Asiaweek Magazine. He also submitted in the past to international wires news agencies like Reuters, Associated Press, Agence France Presse and the European Press Photo Agency. and asian and international magazines.

Presently, he working for the Philippine Star as a staff photojournalist still based in Zamboanga City, southern Philippines.
