I've been taking photographs for over a decade now, although it wasn't until late 2006 when I bought my first dslr that I started developing more of a passion for photography and image making. The amount of different techniques out there are staggering and my personal favourites for expressing my visual language include long-exposure, light painting, infra-red and high dynamic range (hdr) photography.

Although a graphic designer by trade, photography plays an ever increasing part in my visual library. I'm fascinated by opposites and the importance extremes play in helping to define or understand the greyscale inbetween. Light and shade as captured in photography is a powerful medium to convey this.

If you'd like to use/licence or reproduce any of my images please don't hesitate to get in touch.

'There are many photographs which are full of life but which are confusing and difficult to remember. It is the force of an image which matter.'

'Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.'
-Henri Cartier-Bresson

    ANNA.LOGOPHOBIA says:

"i've often found overly photoshopped images tacky, overdone or distastefully over the top. however, mr cowgummy is not just an exception to this rule, he has in fact converted me when it comes to graphic treatment of images and i happily eat my own words regarding my issues around using P.S.
his images are always edited to perfection, no more or less and manages to conjure the most spectacular of scenes.
i find him a true breath of fresh air with a portfolio full of variety and imagination. amazingly, every single image has a sense of genius, a sense of purpose and of course, a sense of true photography no matter how distorted or edited the image. a truly fantastic photographer and a truly fantastic artist. keep it coming!"

"This is the first testimonial I've written, and I can't think of anyone better to write one for other than CowGummy. His night photography is unbelievable, I'd rank some of his long exposures as some of the best I've seen come out of the UK. I'm gobsmacked everytime I look at his photo stream."

    SToppin says:

"The variety of quailty work is amazing but the "light painting" caught my heart. There is so much energy and life in his work. Its beyond a page. He becomes apart of his art. He is his art."
