My Portfolio

I'm a semi-pro photographer with a PhD. in Neuroscience currently residing in Baltimore and working at Johns Hopkins.

I am fascinated by architecture, typography, and design. They are all manifestations of our ever pervasive need to shape and control the environment around us. I am of course equally fascinated by unperturbed, raw landscapes, as they symbolize both our inability to control nature and because they remain perhaps our best chance of showing each subsequent generation that there is value is allowing things to run their course. That control and manipulation is not always the path to ultimate success.

If your interested in using my work please feel free to contact me. I charge extremely reasonable rates for commercial purposes as well as providing hand made custom frames and matting, personally chosen by yours truly, for any private print purchases. Have your people call my people, we'll do lunch.

"I never know what I'll see here in Blums' photostream, but I always know it'll knock my socks off. Except when I'm not wearing any socks."

    McNeney says:

"Blumsy makes me proud to be a fellow Canadian. I never quite know what I'll find on his page... just that, chances are, it's gonna be intriguing.

He's a thoughtful, unique and... most of all... interesting photographer... and an intelligent, articulate contributor to other people's pics and discussions. In other words, the very best kind of Flickrer. I'm always looking forward to what he'll do next."
