Bill Adler Photography

Photography helps me look at the world in unexpected ways. With a camera, I can stop, pause, and think or feel about what I'm seeing. But mostly it's great fun. Here's my current favorite photo:

Another photo that I really like --the expression of pure joy-- is

This photograph was selected by MasterCard as part of their "Priceless" campaign.

I administer three groups:

* The Gas Meters Flickr group. This group celebrates the accidental art form that gas meters are. Take a look and you'll see what I mean.

* The ClevelandPark Flickr group. Cleveland Park is the neighborhood in Washington, DC where I live.

* The Paper Clip group, where you can show off photographs of your amazing and creative uses for paper clips. The best photos and ideas will be invited to be in my next book, appropriately titled, The Paper Clip Book: Amazing Uses for the World's Most Common Object.

I am currently writing Citizen Journalism: How You Can Be Part of the Citizen Journalist Movement That Is Changing the Face of Journalism, Keeping Governments Honest, Revealing the Truth, and Even Helping to Catch Bad Guys and am looking for stories about citizen journalism. If you're a citizen journalist --a blogger, have contributed news photos, write or take photos for a citizen journalism website-- please feel free to contact me and tell me what you've done.

The weather at home is currently:

Please contact me by email at

or phone (number at, or by FlickrMail if you would like permission to use any of my photographs. That's usually no problem. (Some of my photos are licensed through Creative Commons; those photos can be emailed as a postcard by clicking on a link in the photo's description.)
