I am not a photographer and I will not pretend to be one.

I = We ( Louise, my wife and friend and the best photographer and me )

Hi from South AfricaLouise

Arno by Arno Meintjes Wildlife

I only show the viewer that is interested in WILDLIFE, images from animals not captured and humiliated in zoos around the world.

All my wildlife images are from Africa and taken over a 25+ year period.

I ignore photographic "rules" and try to give it to the viewer as I saw it at the time. If you see anything in or on the image that you dislike please accept it, it was present at the time I took the photo.

List of all the animal and bird species that we have photographed here

I will not alter an image, other than sharpening and lighting, just to get the approval of any so-called photographic expert.

"Arno Meintjies is a very humble wild life photographer ..he in actual fact denies that he is a photographer , but I think that he is one of the best wild life photographers operating in the Kruger Park and other areas.. He knows his wild life particularly Leopards .. he is fully aware of the light back ground and foreground in his photos.; His wife is a wonderful photographer as well they make a wonderful pair.. I always look forward to seeing his photographs and he shares them with us which is so wonderful ..he has the advantage of using Canon cameras and has a wonderful range of lenses .. I salute you Arno and may you keep on producing such wonderful photos of the wildlife that you love so much..I am delighted to be a friend of Arno"

"Africa had never been on my list of places to visit until I started viewing Arno & Louise's photo stream. Now I dream of visiting ! I am in awe of these images. Powerful, beautiful and wild. I enjoy spending a morning with my children going through all of these wonderful photos (as we just did this morning). Thank you so much for sharing the magic of your lives !"

"Having met you folks in the early hours of the morning at Kruger, and being directed to this site by Louise, then registering and finding you here was one thing, but seeing your contribution to photography in general, and "African Wildlife" in particular, has been truly inspiring."

"First of all, I would like to take issue with Amo's assertion that he is not a photographer. I feel he is a great wildlife photographer, and I enjoy his works.
Second, I strongly agree with his philosophy on people viewing his photos. Many viewers have never seen an animal in the wild, or are only familiar with photographing animals in a cage, and do not understand the difficulties involved. I have had people look at my wildlife photos and say something like "It would be great without all those trees and limbs in there". Duh. This is where the wild animal lives. Anyway, keep up the great work, Amo."

"Arno is a realtively new contact of mine but I just adore his wildlife pictures . Unlike so many Flickr uses here , I am rather use to the wildlife and nature my fellow South African presents to you , however , he often has me speechless with how close he actually gets to them . He has an excellent eye for composition and really is a superb photographer . Arno I salute you ... Arno vir president !"

"Arno is a new contact and discovery for me. Visiting his photos is like taking a virtual safari through Africa. His photos include some endangered animals, which he presents with such life that the viewer feels a personal loss at the thought of having them disappear from our beautiful earth. My thanks to Arno for sharing his amazing wildlife photos."
