I'm a huge geek with a digital camera. I enjoy roleplaying games, art, movies, books, and all manner of other things. Check out my LJ or my librarything account for more of the things I like, they're both the same user name.
I'm 27 years old, I live currently in New York City (specifically, the Bronx). I've also lived in Binghamton, NY (5 years), Bloomington, Indiana (2 1/2 years), and Tokyo (4 months). I earned my undergraduate degrees in history and East Asian Studies, and completed a masters degree in Library Science, and I now work from home as an education consultant. I was born in New York City. While I really like my job, I'm spending a lot of time trying to figure out what I want to do with myself in the very long term. I'm currently hoping to go back to school to be a geologist.
I love to travel, and have greatly expanded my horizons in recently - before 2007, I had only been to four countries - the US (of course!), Canada, England and France (or, more accurately, London and Paris). However, now I've decided to add traveling to my life, and I've visited Japan, China (Hong Kong), Singapore, Holland (Amsterdam), Germany (Cologne), and the Czech Republic (Prague) to my list - and revisited London. I've also done a lot of domestic traveling in the last few years - Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Puerto Rico, and a trip to Tennessee and Virginia (and Maryland and Pennsylvania) to visit Civil War Battlefields. My most recent trip was in September, 2009, and included a week in Paris, 8 days in London and 4 days in Amsterdam. Trips on the horizon include a journey back to Japan, which I absolutely loved and miss very much, early thoughts of a trip to Israel; and more domestic travel - I want to spend more time in Boston and Chicago, visit Philadelphia, San Diego and Los Angeles, and other places.
I intend to use this account as my personal photo album, containing all of the photos I take. Therefore, I imagine that some will be more interesting than others to the general viewing public. I take lots of photos, and don't see any reason not to, for all that I'm not actually terribly good at it. ;) I really like to snap shots of the things I encounter.
Please feel free to contact me in regards to using my photographs, but for the most part I fear the answer will be no. My images were under a Creative Commons attribution for a long time, but for a variety of reasons, I've changed it - sorry, folks.
If you are looking through this, and spot something that you think I have incorrectly identified (in many cases, I put a question mark next to the items I'm not certain of) or that I have identified non-specifically (it says "pink flower" and you know what kind of flower it is) PLEASE SEND AN E-MAIL OR POST A COMMENT AND LET ME KNOW! My goal in maintaining this ever growing collection is that it bring me pleasure and be useful to others - I'm very responsive to comments and check this account more or less daily, and have frequently corrected mistakes thanks to the input of all of you out there! So don't be shy - chip in! :)
