I'm a graphic designer by trade who likes to knit, make art, print on my letterpress, and play with my husband and three kids. Occasionally, I moonlight as a photographer. I manage a few freelance design projects on my plate most of the time.

I have found that taking photographs is the perfect way to have some creative "me" time while hanging out with the family. The kids can be playing in the back yard and I can be lurking in the bushes photographing naturey stuff. I find that a camera really makes all the soccer mom responsibilities more tolerable. And, an added bonus? The kiddos can get really embarrassed when I pull out the camera in the school lunch room. Heh. Heh.

Most of my photos are hand held and I almost never use a flash. I feel most comfortable shooting with my nifty fifty (Canon 50mm f1.4). I am preoccupied with light and will circle around my subject to find my favorite lighting. Sometimes, when I'm having a conversation with someone I find myself moving to a position so that I can talk to them when they are better lit. Now that I think of it...My neighbors don't stop to talk to me on the sidewalk anymore....Hmmm....

Anyway, as far as Flickr goes, I have limited time here, so I don't keep a large group of contacts. Please don't be offended if I don't "friend" you back. I will make my best effort to look at and comment on photos of people who comment on mine.
