Lisby is a haggard Washington, DC-area magazine editor and feature writer who needs something to do with the right side of her brain. Voila! Jewelry. She actually has some art training and her influences include neopaganism, tribalism, Buddhism, Victorian gothic, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and rock and roll. She has perfectly eccentric family, including a son who is the reincarnation of the Great Butter Yak and a daughter who was once Lucille Ball. She also has a spoiled parrot named Spike and a kitty named Siouxsie Sioux.

Her Steampunk and other jewelry can be found at

On Facebook, search Big Circle Jewelry and Steampunk Emporium.

Lisby am also a degreed historian and a layman expert in 16th-20th century British history. She an expert in Victorian mourning jewelry, as well as a collector of mourning jewelry, early photography, and other antiquities. She am currently writing a book on her collection of mourning jewelry.

    SimoneTomodachi says:

"Lisby is the most knowledgeable person I know on the subjects of antique photography, specifically Victorian era mourning and post mortem photos. She is very knowledgeable about tracing family roots using the internet as well as other historical sources. She is also extremely knowledgeable about the Tudor era as well as other eras of English history in particular. She is trustworthy to share your Flickr account with AND please respect her copyrights to these photos, especially antique ones, as she has a very extensive collection of both mourning photos and jewelry from the Victorian and other eras of history that used these items, especially hair jewelry. Some people in the past have abused her generous nature in sharing her accounts and have even posted these photos without giving her credit...worse...they posted them with inaccurate information, some of these people were paid for doing so by publications that should have known better and were previously respected by this woman. Please respect her wishes and ASK her before you use these photos (especially any from her personal collection) as well as remember to give her credit. Thank you!"
