    CJ Madson says:

"One of the best things about flickr is being able to connect with talented, passionate people who enjoy sharing the things that make them smile with others. Jeff is definitely one of those people.

I saw the custom cars and choppers and all in my early days and read about the magicians who did the work and ran the shops and wrote the stories but never thought I'd meet one. Jeff wandered by my page and gave some great comments, and eventually I discovered how big of a role he played in all that fascinating craziness that happened years ago. He was proud of it but didn't push it on me — I discovered it over time. He posted old scanned shots of bikes he'd made or painted, the people he hung out with, all sorts of things.

I leared a lot about his painting techniques by stepping through the images and descriptions he posted — really interesting (and rather daunting) stuff. He's been very supportive of those coming up in the business, sharing techniques and even turning over his personal brushes and magic jars to a deserving and appreciative fellow. And I was fortunate enough to meet up with the man himself a few years ago at a custom car show. We wandered around together and I got the benefit of his knowledge and opinions regarding the cars (replicas or not), paint (awesome or OK — and how to tell the difference), the people and the truly creative makers keeping it all alive. And it was obvious how he valued the honest and real work being done on rat rods and the cars that were seeing real road time. Jeff and 'real' go together like his hand and a pinstripe brush.

I appreciate the time he's taken with me and in sharing all his cool (and just a bit wild) history. And I really appreciate seeing his joy of family and pride in what they've all accomplished. I know he adores them -- one sweet lady in particular.

A bit of interaction on a photo sharing site turned into something Truly Bitchen, and I'll always thank him for that. Jeff, you rock."
