I'm a Canadian-born bioarchaeologist working primarily in Egypt and Turkey these days. After years of leading a semi-nomadic existence, my wife and I have recently settled in Oxford (actually, we now live in Bologna... and now we've just relocated to Palo Alto, CA).

Taking photos has always been one of my greatest pleasures. My first camera was a Kodak Hawkeye Instamatic II given to me as a Christmas present in 1978. Since then I've never been without a camera of some sort. There is no particular style or subject manner that interests me. I tend to shoot what's in front of me, wherever I happen to be. That being said, I've always loved pictures of people, especially candids. Unfortunately, I'm usually too shy to take pictures of strangers in public. I guess I need a longer lens.
