Unfettered curiosity keeps me coming back to Flickr again and again! My eyes get hungry for beauty and the unique images—and enduring friendships fostered with the people who post them!—that I discover here. Flickr never disappoints!
I have Flickr to thank for providing me an opportunity to make surprising connections with extraordinary people who share an appreciation for many of the same things I hold dear: animals, children, family, friends, pets, nature, recycling, thriftiness, creativity, gratitude, hard work, service, love and compassion, life-long learning, character and quality, a deep respect for the environment, a belief in the interconnectedness of all things on our planet, a different way of looking at the world, an attitude that engenders hope and faith in humanity, and a trust in the inherent goodness of our fellow man.
I'm Flickr-Sister (and reel, or rather REAL sister!) to ReelSaltyLady, a popular Florida charter boat captain and top prize winner in fishing tournaments in the Southeast; mother to two grown children—a handsome son and beautiful daughter, grandmother of toddler fraternal twins and a pre-teen granddaughter; and the significant other to Gary, my best friend and life partner, helpmate and confidant. He makes me laugh every day. A lot! ;o)
I'm a hard-wired teacher in my soul, and my primary career path was that of an art educator for 15 years—a period of enormous satisfaction for me. I then found my second niche as a proofreader/copyeditor working for a tiny company of generous and talented people dedicated to producing high level computer training workshops and instructional manuals to the IT community. And in the third phase, I now find myself a part-time online purveyor of pre-loved vintage and thrifted goods and things I've made myself—who has a full-time flickr fetish!
I take great joy in hunting thrift shops for vintage objects and other wonderful things I wouldn't find anywhere else. I am drawn to the old, the obsolete and the odd. (Probably explains a lot about me.) The mystery of what is to be found in the next moment or around the next corner, keeps me coming back for more. Sort of like Flickr . . .
. . . and so the circle is complete.

Oh, and two things—I hate to add—but will anyway:
1) Please NO sparkling, glittering, winking, blinking award icons in the comments sections of my photos. I love to hear what you have to say, but those eejit things just make me crazy.
2) If you have nothing on your photostream to show me and no personal photographic icon, DO NOT add me as a contact or favorite my photos because I will block you.
My vintage and handmade goods are in three Etsy Shops and I'd love for you to drop in sometime for a visit—one is for items created and handmade by me, "alleysally" at ~ Beadz, Buttonz, Beltz & Beyond; another is for pre-loved vintage objects and decor in shabby cottage-style at PastPerfectVintage2 (I'm just getting this one started so there's not much in it presently, but do check back!); and my primary shop is called EraPhernalia Vintage, for those who love living with a little past in their present®. All of my Etsy shops are currently on hiatus.
You can find me here, on Ravelry, where I continue to be pretty active.
