"My occupational hazard is, my occupation's just not around" - Jimmy Buffett

I'm a happily married man living in Haddonfield, NJ with our Golden Retriever, a cat, and, of course, birds galore in the back yard.

It started when my wife replaced my stolen camera with a Nikon N80. That progressed to a D70, a D200, and then finally my current D300. And I'd like to think that I've progressed as my equipment has.

What started as more of a way to confirm IDs on birds became a passion for nature photography: birds, butterflies and dragonflies are my primary subjects, although anything interesting can catch my eye. I've tried some artistic stuff when the mood hits, but I'll leave the portraits to my wife.

I'm more of a stream-of-consciousness poster - I'll put up shots that I like, and occasionally go through and pull them down if I decide that they weren't up to snuff. Some of my current favorites:

Many of my shots will be birds, and I am keeping a photo record of my life list in Flickr. I'm putting together my visual lifelist based on a suggestion from Gini, so look for that soon. If you want to learn more about the warped musings of my mind, check out my blog, Fairweather Zealot.

Marty's without doubt the best bird photographer on Flickr. He also makes a wonderful Gummi Bear stew.

...ahh? First Testimonial?!? What gives!! I thought there'd be a long list. This guy rules the roost. He seems to be the Doctor Doolittle of Flickr but he does "alot".
