Hi I'm Rosanna Corrò,

enjoy this visit.

The Italian word CARTE means PAPERS, ARTE means ARTS. That's why I've chosen this name to represent my work.

Maybe some of you had spent an Italian holiday in Venice and had visit my studio next to Rialto bridge.

You can also know a little more about me in the Lonely Planet Guide ( Venice Encounter 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009),Lonely Planet guide of Italy 2010 section Venice local voice, in the Amex Traveller website ( Local voices section Venice )and in Hachette Un grand weekend en Venise 2012, 2011, 2010.

Here there's a little bit of my story.

I have gradually acquired the craft techniques of artistic bookbinding and paper marbling, initially within the antique book restoration area and then in the bookbinding workshops of Venice.

My quest is aimed at proposing unusual and original use of paper, by developing its vast potential.

The papers I marble are multicoloured explosions which fluctuate from vibrant to modern tastes. Although they are similar, the marbleized sheets realized in limited ranges are always unique items. They cover unique handmade creations in cardboard, with highly original character.

Unexpected results are achieved when decorating silk paper; very fine and very delicated sheets representing ethereal and gaseous forms. They are unique, individual sheets.

Traditional Japanese suminagashi are sheets of paper with an essential, sophisticated taste - the fruits of a patient work.
