/edit

tdwrsa says:

I always started up flickr in my browser with:
www.flickr.com/photos/name/edit

But from today I see that /edit gets deleted and I get a screen with large photos instead of the one I liked with the small photos and text under each photo...
What happened?

The link you provided appears to be incorrect. Did you mean this?

www.flickr.com/photos/me/edit

(Your link leads to this: www.flickr.com/photos/)

what I meant with name is any name, in my case the name is tdwrsa. I put it in quotes, but flickr removed those when I posted the question.
So when I went to www.flickr.com/photos/tdwrsa/edit I would get the startup screen I like, but flickr now removes /edit...and gives me the startup screen I do not like..

Does this happen when you try to sign in from that page? Or as still logged in, after opening your browser?

What happens when you use this page instead, the *old* edit page (by adding /?details=1 to the photostream URL:

www.flickr.com/photos_user.gne?path=tdwrsa&nsid=&...

thanks Mabel, www.flickr.com/photos_user.gne?path=tdwrsa&nsid=&... does the trick, it brings back the screen I used to get with www.flickr.com/photos/tdwrsa/edit but with one exception, the bell icon used to view new messages (next to the upload icon) is missing....

That's because the old Edit page is built on "old stack", where newer features such as the bell are absent. However, you can still click on your round buddy icon which offers the drop down including the link to Flickr mail, with a notification in case of unread mail.

The new one was rolled out end of September 2017:

yes, the round icon, but that's for mail only, no notifications.....

Goed, genoeg hierover denk ik, verandering is de enige constante....ik moet dus afleiden dat de nieuwe edit page door flickr verwijderd is.
Groeten.

Translation: Okay, enough of this I should think, change is the only constant. I must deduce that the new edit page has been removed by Flickr.

More accurate would be to say that it is not possible to sign in via the url to the new Edit page without losing the page after signing in, since the Edit page itself is still up and running.

I shall close my browser and open it they way you used to, on the new Edit page, and see what happens.

(Please give follow up in English)

I just logged in to my alternative account, called up my new Edit page, then I closed the browser.

I then reopened the browser (mind I did not sign out) and what I saw was the Flickr Edit page.

Will see what happens if I sign out and the back in, whether the page will be preserved.
ED. No, after I signed in, I got the Home page.

However, it IS possible to actually sign in to the *old* details page, since it is not a *private* page and includes a "sign in" link in the black nav bar.

update MabelAmber️®***Pluto5339*** incognito:

I found a way that works

Entering www.flickr.com/photos/myID/edit works, where myID is my unique flickr ID which one can found using this tool www.adamwlewis.com/articles/what-is-my-flickr-id

So it works with the ID but not with the name and now also shows notifications..

Remember. I never log out of flickr, just close the browser.

You don't need that tool to find your numeric Flickr ID, just initiate to send yourself a message, you will see it in the URL, here is yours:

87227356@N06

At least, you seem to be referring to your numeric ID.

yes, was referring to numeric ID MabelAmber️®***Pluto5339*** incognito:

thanks I'm all sorted out, although I do not see how to initiate sending a flickr mail to my self, because there is no mail icon. But don't worry about that.

You need to click on your round buddy icon immediately below a photo (or your small icon beside a comment), then, from the menu click on "message".

Not "worrying" - but providing information, these forum posts also serve as future reference for others seeking answers :).
