How do I get the embed code for my Flickr album?

The only way to embed an Album is by using the embed code for the slideshow.

Add / show to your Album URL (or photostream, fave page URLs), go into the slideshow, look to top right and grab the embed code form Share.

I don't know where that is... Can you explain it in a more simple way? Go to Album, if I toggle slideshow there is no embed code

Can you explain it in a more simple way?

1. Open your Album

2. Look to the white bar, with the "https:// etc thingy, that is the Internet Address of your Album, it is called the URL

3. Add /show to the end of that URL

4. Press on "Enter"

5. Now you are in the slideshow

6. Look to top right hand corner

7. You will see a bunch of options, among them Share: click on Share

8. Grab the "embed HTML " code under Share

9. Paste it wherever needed.

10. Done.

EDIT to say that you can follow this procedure to get to the slideshow for your photostream and your fave pages, simply add show to the URLs for those pages. And not only yours, the procedure works for other people's Albums, Photostreams and Fave pages just the same.

A few thoughts here:

1st, thank you to Mabel for the assist on this. Your help is truly appreciated.

2nd, wow, but that is one convoluted way to embed a slideshow. If you don't already know to add '/show' to the end of the URL, you're just out of luck. There is *nothing* in the existing interface that allows embedding of a slideshow.

3rd, when did Flickr remove the ability to simply embed an album? I much prefer an album view w/ the option for lightbox and/or slideshow functions. I guess some 3rd party out there might provide this, but what a complicated, convoluted mess!

As far as I can go back, 2007 when I joined, there never was an html embed code for an entire Album.

Since last year when iFrame embed code was introduced, you could grab the iFrame code for an entire Album and use it on sites which accepted iFrame - however, that no longer works, the shared Album will show other photos, not confined to the album.

I second Vagabondians comment. It took me 3 days to figure out how to embed a slide show. Thanks Mable! Embedding a slide show should be a lot easier.

ValleyIndy.org:

Here is the slideshow for your photostream, look at the URL to see how it is done:

www.flickr.com/photos/valleyindy/show

In the same way you can convert the URL for any Album and for the Fave pages into a slideshow.

In case it helps, the embed option wasn't showing for me either and I discovered that you need to be logged into a Flickr account for it to show up. Alternatively, it looks like you can put /show?embed=1 on the end of the URL without needing to login.

Hm, this works on Chrome, but when I view on Firefox, it says, "A plugin is needed to display this content" with a dark grey background. It's super strange, I'm not sure what plugin would be needed.

wow, i think they removed the embed code option now even if you do the /show trick?

as of now the windows where i formerly grabbed the embed code looks like this: i.imgur.com/nCYyOBN.png

previously at the location of the red rectangle the embed code was displayed. did they really remove it?

update: d'oh. seemed to have been just a temporary bug.. it's back now: i.imgur.com/YjgCMAj.png

Looks like this is a deprecated "show" interface that isn't accessible any more except from knowing the /show URL. That's worrying, because it suggests that it may vanish in future, and possibly take with it the ability to embed an album :-(

There never was an html embed code for Albums, just the one in the slideshow as indicated.

However, since the introduction of iFrame you cold embed an Album using the iFrame code from the Album photos. I need to add that that no longer works.
