Flickr Desktop Uploader

ruth_revell PRO says:

I've used the desktop uploader for sometime without any issues. Now when I try to use it, it tells me I need to enable it in my account. I go through that process, and go back to the uploader to sign in and it again tells me I haven't enabled it. Only been having this issue for the last week or so.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still having the same issue.

Any ideas?

Try the fancy new web uploader? It works like a charm.

Have you checked using another browser, to see if you see the same behavior?

I have used it, but prefer the desktop one..

With the web uploader can you name the upload as a set straight away or do you have to go in and edit it?

Hairlover - it's a desktop uploader so doesn't run through a browser.

may be helpful to
go to tools and check console for errors and warnings

and have you tried this
go to tools, preferences and check authorization
try removing user and then add user again

i had the same problem years ago and that worked for me
mine was working fine at the weekend

IrenicRhonda says:

Flickr stopped development of their own desktop uploader in early 2009.

-Jérôme- was developing the Uploadr for Flickr before they decided to stop.

He released what he had done so far into the App Garden

www.flickr.com/services/apps/72157620182196244/

But that was mid 2009 so is also quite old, though newer than Flickr's official one

So maybe it's time to move on with how you upload to Flickr

There are other desktop Uploaders in the App Garden

And don't forget Flickr's own revamped web uploader
