Dr. Keats says:

So sorry to hear of your brother's death...

If you have access to his account, just log in, then go to the "You" tab, and click on "Your Account". At the bottom of the options on the page that loads up will be the "Delete" option.

You could try "Help by email" and see if staff can do it for you. You may be asked to prove the death, which may cause a bit of distress, but this sort of thing could be abused.

Another thought is to leave the photos as a sort of memorial.

You also have my sympathy - my brother died 11 years ago, much too young. If it is any consolation the pain diminishes but never quite disappears.

My condolonces ...

If you have access to his pc, he might still be logged into his flickr account and you can do what Dr. Keats suggested.

rubens rodrigues, we're very sorry for your loss.

Flickr works with the Yahoo! Legal Compliance team to resolve these types of situations. You'll need to send them a copy of the death certificate in order to have the Flickr account closed. Please include the URL and screen name of his account. Compliance can be reached at 408-349-3687.

Heather,
Could you tell me, please, what Yahoo email adress I must to send the death certificate?

thank you.

The Searcher says:

I think you'll have to call that number for that info. When I had to do something similar, pretty much no one would accept an email attachment of a death certificate. They usually require mailing a certified copy or faxing a copy. With any luck a tech company like Yahoo has caught up to the times.

Thank you for your help, The Searcher. The problem is I'm in Brazil and that number seems to be in the USA, isn't it?
Anyway, I'll search for a Yahoo headquarter in Brazil, if they have one, of course.

Iansand and Bjorn Houben, thank you so much for the words and ideas. I sometimes need something more than the objective answer for my question, because this situation is really hard to me.

with Skype, you can call US phone numbers (and most of the rest of the world, too) for about $0.02 per minute from your computer.
