I'm interested (and I'm sure others are as well) in knowing how many of you have a photography blog or photoblog.
Post your photography blog or photoblog and perhaps a quick description of what you do with your blog.
I've just been roped into being photographer at a Girl Guide Thinking Day service this Monday evening - the county photographer can't make it and has misguided faith in my ability. I really don't want to let them down, but I really might.
My own camera is a Fuji FinePix 9600, which I've had for a while and am quite comfortable with. My brother has just loaned me his ol...
(I cross posted this in the Epic Edits Photodump pool as well. This was the only other place I could think of to turn to, since digital is not my forte).
So I'm after a (really) cheap PnS with a hot shoe for test shots instead of a Polaroid for studio lighting tests.
I don't own a digital camera at the moment and I don't want to spend much at all. I was biddi...
So I've had my camera for a couple years now and this is the first problem I've had with it.
Basically, it can turn on but it cannot take photos and the LCD screen is blank/black showing nothing. Also, sometimes when I turn it off the light would remain on. Sometimes it won't turn on at all. :-(
Anyone know what might be wrong with it before I take it in to a camera ...
Hi all, I'm gonna buy my first SRL, a Canon EOS digital rebel XSI.
My intention is to start learning photography, specially baby portraits and food photography. So I was wondering what is a good lens for close-ups. Should I buy another lens if I want to take wide angle pictures too?
Should I buy just canon lenses or there's another good brand that is compatible w...
I am looking for some advice on how to get some good soccer shots. My little brother is starting up soccer again this year and it will be my first time shooting it with my Nikon D40. I have a 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm lens. I also have a bunch of filters. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
I have also been looking at some pictures other ...
Of course everyone is trying to make a buck, right?
My questions are:
Are you selling your photography?
Are you planning on selling your photography?
How and where are you or do you plan on selling your photography?
I'm a Mac user, I won't hold it against you if you aren't as long as you don't hold it against me.
We (it's my wife's and she uses it for school) now also have a Dell Laptop running Windows Vista and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with it's performance. Yeah, it's a little buggy but I think it works way better than all of the Vista bashing seems to ex...
Lately, I've seen a lot of outstanding water drop images on Flickr. You can see things or colors reflecting in the drops. Does anyone have any pointers to give me on how to try these macro shots? I am a fairly good macro photographer, but I can't get these shots to work for me.
Hi Everyone! I am Brenda and I am an amateur in photography but everyone tells me I cut myself short when I say amateur but I may take good shots but I can't tell you how I do it. I am an artist and I also write books. Books and Photos are more of a hobby for me. I am honored to have the privilege of your Website as well as being a part of your pool. and Thank You very muc...

My first camera was a "Snappy". It was a plastic toy camera which took 120 roll film and I guess I was about 6 yrs old when my parents gave it to me.
It leaked light and so when the film was developed there were white patches along one edge of the prints but I loved it and took quite a few shots with it - all B&W.
I remember taking it on holiday when we went to the ...
I'm sure we all sit there by the TV, look at our cameras and wonder - why can't my indoor night photos look any good? All that red eye and harsh shadows?!
Borrowing from the technique of bouncing flash, I took a few photos to demonstrate a few principles.
First - this works best with an external flash that you can control. If you set the flash to manual mode, you d...
