Group Description

The Urban Charrette is a group of forward-thinking professionals in Tampa that have joined together to create an urban design collaborative dedicated to research, education and advocacy that assists communities in building more livable cities.

Using workshops and charrettes, this urban design collaborative stimulates civic engagement and explores strategies for implementation. Connecting community members, policy makers, practitioners, and educators to give better understanding of how design, as a tool, can be used to increase social, environmental, and economic well being within cities. Through these connections, we can design a vision for a livable city that is safe, compelling, and economically vibrant – one of social equity, environmental responsibility, and economic opportunity.
