Ok, so I just had to post about this because I know you would all get how excited I am.
It was total chance that I happened to go see Wenlan Chia speak today at a yarn store. I was doing something, I don't even remember what about a week ago that possesed me to try to find a good super bulky yarn, when through my internet searches I found a store (www.yarn.com) with lot...
I get my book!!! Im happy, I received my book, but I have a doubt, while I was waiting for it, I was looking youre commentts and I saw that there are many problems with the patterns and sizes, etc.
I would like to know if somebody knows if there are a web page that shows the errata of the book patterns that I could download.
I will appreciate so much!!
anyone out there make the hamptons halter? i'm totally confused by some instructions in the short rows in the ribbed bodice. i've done short rows before and thought i had it, but this one really has me stumped. just curious if anyone else had a similar experience on this ribbed bodice...
Has anyone found mistakes in the pattern for this? The official errata really only talk about the yarn requirements + the neckband. I’m on the back part of the vest right now, and I’m wondering if the directions are wrong for when to start the shoulder shaping (I think it’s going to be too long!) my front and back shoulder edges are not matching..
ok, i tried to wrap my head around this pattern, but i ended up just frogging the whole sweater. i still want to make it, but can anyone help me figure out how to make the cable pattern work correctly? i don't read patterns that often, but it seems to me that WS/RS refers to turning work, and i don't get why they would tell you the pattern for turning your work when the ov...
Finally got my apple green Lana Grande yarn in mail and am getting ready to knit the GSD. I've got some serious work to do with regards to writing out the pattern. Anyone interested in knitting it along with me?
I suggest that we collect tried and tested yarn options to this thread. I write from Finland, so these options might be available only in Europe.
Wintery option for silk-cotton yard: Garnstudio Eskimo
Cotton option for silk-cotton yard: Garnstudio Muskat , gauge was correct with 3 strands, 10 mm needle.
And no, I don't work for Garnstudio =). These yarns...
Hi all, not sure if this was already posted, but for any impatient/unsure knitters out there-- you can try one of Twinkle's patterns for free without buying the book. The best friend cardigan is available at Canadian Living online:
Hi all! Those of you who have submitted may have seen this already, but I thought I should pass it on. Sounds so fun!
Sorry for the mass emails but we have great news to spread!
Anthropologie is going to host Twinkle knitting class at their Rockefeller Center (New York) store! There will be 4-class series starting from 6/26 through out the winter of 2007. We're...
I'm planning on making the shopping tunic when I order some Soft Chunky online. However, I only have the tunic pattern as it appeared in the Vogue Knitting Holiday 2005 issue. That pattern called for three strands of a finer wool to be used, presumably because the Soft Chunky wasn't yet available at that time.
My question: is the pattern the same in both the book and th...
Hi everybody! I am trucking along on my hoodie, but, for the life of me, I can't figure out how Twinkle wants us to join sleeves. I'm on the wrong side, just having finished the binding off of four stitches twice in the body section (presumably sleeve openings).
The only way i can see this working is if the sleeves are seamed at the top of the arm? i'm confused.
Well I'm new to this. I've been inspired by all the discussion and the photos!!!
I want to buy the book, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to buy yarn that suits. I have some Veronica by Lincraft and I've had a go at the BFC but my guage is all wrong. Seems this yarn isn't thick enough and I don't get on very well with the 15mm needles.
Anyway, I'd like to know if...
