Thanks william.olive for sorting this out. It looks like I've got a good 6+months before I get my go. Oh, well. I'll just have to sit tight.
Happy travels little Trip!

I am looking forward to this. And the guy who has it before me is a masterful photographer. This is going to be good.

Is it too late to withdraw? I told my parents and they had a fit about me giving out my address to strangers on the net, and how I won't have time to take photos since I need to concentrate on my studies...
I mean, I can give it to Cassio right when I get it, since we're both in Hong kong

That's a shame, Dr. P, but I guess you have to respect your parents' decision. Although I have to say I don't understand it...do they realise that you've only given your address to one stranger on the internet?

Posted 15 years ago
no. they went on this website and still l believe I gave it to you all
Well, it is on the way. You have about ten days to convince them.
Man, postage is pricey. UPS wanted $106.00 to ship. I ended up using the USPS as it was about half that amount.
As for the camera, it is lovely. I ran two rolls (one b&w and one colour,) and have yet to get the color roll developed. I will save my fourth post for something on that roll.

This is taking forever...
if I don't get it next week is there anything I can do? Call the post office to check it up or smth?
EDIT: Once I get it I'll notify u guys, then find C. Hui so I can immediately pass it on when I'm done.

The post office said it would be at least ten working days. It will be there next week.

i'l give the post office one more week before I call them (I dunno if you can too, but we can just call the post office with the address the parcel was supposedly sent to and they will check it up)
I tracked it, and it says it was delivered on Sept. 11th. I don't know if that means it was delivered to the Post system or to your house though. Do you think someone may have signed for it and not told you?

Called up the Post Office.
It was delivered to the house on Sept. 11th.
She started a dispute with the Hong Kong Post Office, and they will provide proof of delivery. They have 24 days to provide the proof. :-(
Polaris, maybe you can call on your end. The customs tracking number is:
CP65 1972 284U S
Let me know if there is anything I can do on my end. It was insured for $75.00, but I think it will be hard to submit a claim if they said it was delivered. Maybe your parents have it?

bad news. I'm still willing to put forward a replacement Trip if necessary.

the house I put down was my grandparent's house. I've asked them, they said they don't have it, but I think my uncle (who lives with them) might have it. Problem is he's out of town, so I couldn't ask him. I'll tell my g-parents to search around the house.
it's in a box?
it's in a box?
Yes. A Red, white, and blue United States Post Office box. I am surprised the box doesn't say "These Colors Don't Run" or "USA! USA!" all over it.
Us Americans are not known for our modesty.

So, what's the word Polaris? Did you ask your Uncle or Grandparents?
So, it has been 10 days that the Trip35 was delivered. I hope Polaris (Jesse) have sorted it out. How long will your uncle be out of town Jesse?

oh double post but I'm too lazy to edit..
I was thinking about taking some photos of the mid-autumn festival tonight, and it'll be dark as hell. I have a flash, so should I set my trip to f 2.8 and the flash will fire automatically?

never actually used flash on my Trip, but yes it will fire automatically. Settings depend on your flash - if it's a purely manual flash you need to set the aperture according to the distance to your subject - there should be a table printed on the back of the flash. If the flash is auto, there will be one or two possible apertures you can use - again there should be information on the flash itself. Be aware that my experience of flash units is limited to 30-year-old models, more modern ones are likely to be very much more sophisticated...

I hope I didn't mess it up. I just set my f stop to 2.8 cuz I was too lazy to look at the table in the dark..

i already contacted Cassio three days ago, and the news is that the only available time that I can pass the trip on is next week. It seems we live merely 20 minutes or so away from each other, so I will pass it on by hand.
I will post content on the PM if needed

Not yet. The item just left Hong Kong for its destination on 18-Nov-2010.
That's what's written in the HK mail tracking and not yet available in the Malaysian mail tracking system. Let's wait for today since it's already Friday here in Malaysia then I'll give them a call next week.

Well, to put a positive spin on this, it's all good stuff for the book!
Perhaps, depending upon what the post office has to say, rather than re-send to akmalzaini, send to Kinoz first.

I agree with William. Maybe better to be sent to either Kinoz or Jusni first.

are we going to make some sorta book or anything out of this? Or maybe someone can assemble it on the computer and PDF it into a nice little online gallery/book.

I recently used Blurb for a book of the family holiday. The cover and binding options are great but the quality of the printing is not as good as I'd expect. I've had better from other companies. I'm still indiscussions with them to determine if this is a printing error or their standard quality.
Dr. Polaris
Posted 14 years ago
If we had a solid, RL book, it'd feel much more real. Blubr looks nice, but with what harragan said, I have doubts :(
Kinoz
Posted 14 years ago
I think there's might be a problem with the printing, i haven't heard any complaint from my friend though. :D
harragan
Posted 14 years ago
Yeah, I've heard really good things about Blurb too, that's why I went with them. I imagine it's either a one off error or I'm too picky.

I've used blurb and not had any issues. I also know some very picky photographers who've used them too
I have used Blurb for about 3 books now ... excellent quality every time !
