In January we want to see your pictures of Impressionism, corresponding with our current exhibition The Movement of Impressionism Check the January call for photos for details.

Group Description

Post your photos of Tacoma Art Museum, FREE Third Thursday events, community festivals, Chihuly glass on view in the museum, and Scott Fife’s Leroy, the Big Pup. Photos of friends and family visiting the museum are welcome too!

Photography isn’t permitted inside the museum galleries so please only post pictures taken in the photography-friendly sections of the museum. (The architecture, lobby, Chihuly collection, Open Art Studio, Untitled Café, and other public areas.)

Here are some tags we hope you use on your photos where applicable:

Check the discussion board every month where we’ll post a new Call for Photos for a different topic, sometimes inspired by an exhibition, sometimes generated from the creativity of our own staff and visitors. Feel free to invite friends and other photographers to submit images. The group is open to the world; not just Tacoma!

If you have taken pictures at other museums in the area, please consider posting to their Flickr groups instead.

Group Rules

Because the images of the artwork on view at Tacoma Art Museum is protected by copyright, the museum has the right to remove any image that compromises that restriction.

Images posted to the Tacoma Art Museum group should relate to Tacoma Art Museum or one of the postings on the discussion board. Photographs of other museums, including Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, and Seattle Art Museum will be removed from the group. Though we encourage personal expression, please reserve posting images of your artwork for times when it is directly related to the monthly topic.

Monthly topics expire at the end of each month to give all group members an opportunity to be inspired by something new.

Group members are asked to respect the privacy rights of museum visitors who may be featured in their photographs.

Tacoma Art Museum reserves the right to edit photos in the pool for content and relevance.
