Has anyone tested the Odin triggers with the Canon 6D?

I just picked up a pair. I have not yet had time to fully test but ETTL seems to be working OK. However, using Canon A:B Ratios with EV set to 0 produced a grossly over exposed image. But I'm not sure if it is soething I am doing wrong. I need to test more.

Hi guys,
If you are getting aquainted with Odins, I would suggest developing the habit of following a particular 'switch on' sequence.
(I notice that PW suggest something similar for their TTL kit.)

If you are expecting a proximal (nearer the centre) device A, to assess & recognise a distal (more peripheral) device B, it makes sense for device B to be ON & ready before you switch on device A.

So it's Speedlite first, then Rx (& repeat), then TCU - lastly camera body. (And the same sequence for switch off.) It seems to keep the kit stable - 17 months & counting. Cheers

That's interesting. Trial and error eh? Any official word on this from Phottix?

Hi Ahmad,

I've not seen anything specific from Phottix on this. The Odin instructions do not highlight or emphasize any particular sequence, but they do follow it on careful reading. (Obsessive - moi?)

As I mentioned, PW did come out with something similar for their Mini & Flex, but I don't remember where I saw that. I just remember thinking; 'Hmm, I do that already - sort of.'

Yep as Layermask mentions, they do mention the switch on order in the manual, but don't make any great point of it. But again as Layermask mentions that's just the way it make sense to the system.

But I've tried everything switching things on and off all over the place and nothing really fools them. If you're having a problem though it would be worth trying.

That's one big frustration people have with the TT1/5, when something stops firing or is firing intermittently etc you have to go through the whole shuttle launch procedure in order to get them running again.

I've never used the ratios, only the + or - Ev method on the main screen, but somehow I think you would have the same issue either way.

Thanks.
Yes, the shuttle launch sequence is mighty annoying.
