Group Description

Street art in Helsinki. Get yours at bighugelabs.com/flickr

Street art from Helsinki - documented & shared faster than the zero tolerance of "Stop Töhryille" ever can remove it.

The city of Helsinki enforces a zero tolerance policy, making almost all forms of street art illegal. Most street art is removed before anyone has a chance to see it. Fortunately, it's not illegal to take photos of street art - yet.

The idea for this group is to build a virtual street art gallery of Helsinki, to highlight various forms of artistic expression the city council and mayor is so anxious to suppress. Documenting, sharing and thus preserving it faster than zero-tolerance can remove it.

Pick your street to start:

Please read discussions and pool rules before adding photos to the pool.

You should tag your photos with "Helsinki", street name (or district) and "stop töhryille" or "stop tohryille"

For example: "Helsinki" "Fredrikinkatu" "stop töhryille"

You are also free to use tags like "sticker", "graffiti", "tag", "throw-up", "stencil" and so on. Your tags will make it easier to navigate and find photos among the thousands added to the pool, as visitors can browse the virtual streets of Helsinki just by clicking a tag.

Group Rules

1. Everyone knows what sucks and what does not. Add only photos of quality street art, this is not the place to archive every single ink mark you discover.

2. Do not flood the pool. Admins will remove photos, the bot cleans the pool and flooding will only result in a ban or removal of photos.

3. Add only good quality photos of street art. "Good" means that people should be able to tell what's in the photo, and that it's at least decently exposed. Cameras do a great job nowadays, so this is easy.

4. Follow the pool posting limits. The less photos you choose to add --> the higher the average quality.
