Hello everybody! This is my first post in this group, and I just wanted to take the time and say how great the photos are in the pool. You all definitely show a side of Staten Island that is not regularly seen. =)

I was wondering if anyone knew of a lab on SI that deals with medium format film? I'm thinking of purchasing a Pentax 645, but I don't want to invest into the system if I can't find a place to develop the film. I could probably find somewhere in NYC, but I figured I'd ask, just in case there is a more local place.

Keep up the good work everyone, and thanks for the help! =)

The only place I knew of and used was Wallich's, but I'm pretty sure they're closed now. Use Duggal on W 23rd St. (between 5th and 6th) in Manhattan.

Agreed, as long as you can get into the city, there's still a number of decent pro labs that will process film of all formats for you, and this isn't likely to change any time soon. Finding a place that does good scans can be a more hit and miss affair, however.

If you're shooting B&W, I'd recommend giving home development a try. Only takes a few rolls before it becomes more cost effective than lab developing, you have more control over the process, and it's always a thrill to see real pictures appear on the negatives once you're done. (And of course there's lots of help available on Flickr)
