Dark Room is a constantly shifting group show of projected photographs accompanied by a collage of sounds. Each curator has selected 15 different works, spaced over an hour and rotated out of sync; essentially creating a show that changes every minute. Sound has been selected for each of the series separately; however, when placed over the three other sequences it continually re-contextualizes the entire show. This concept plays on issues of spontaneity and novelty, allowing the audience to enter a show that contains exactly 240 different permutations and endless possibilities for interpretation.

Dark Room is a show organized and curated by four Gallery Practicum students lead by Linda Herritt.

The projector Joe Ahearn has curated contains 15 images of bridges throughout New York City, all acquired through FlickR's World Map application. The users ( ANDY CROSS, Geo-Vision, mudpig, and and a host of other Flickr photographers). all agreed to participate over the internet. Field recordings were then collected along each of bridges, at the approximate location of the original photographer and time of day, which accompany the photographs in the exhibit. This addresses the transportational nature of photography, and the way sound plans into our experience of the city as we explore the many different ways the neighborhoods are tied together.
