Congratulations to all, and especially to our presenter Robert C for what can only be described as a dominant performance in this month's list!

Quite an eclectic group of images too - no bridges! Great work everyone.

Wow - I agree Andy.
Congratulations to all! - I was surprised to see one of mine in this top 10 - it is an honor to be included among these wonderful shots. One of the things that I like the most about this Top Ten is its diversity of subjects - all of which helps to define the uniqueness of Staten Island.

wow, great pictures this month. my faves are 5 and 6. amazing images with no post processing. apparently the most interesting thing I can capture is young women in the ferry terminals. I'm not really sure how #10 got in there. i think there were a lot better pictures in the running from myself and others.

I am really glad our comment storm on andy's picture of my ass crack didn't substantially boast the interestingness.

IMHO there are a lot fo really good pictures outside of the top ten:

IMHO the algorithm for the Top Ten should be limited to 1 selection per photographer. This will insure more diversity. Perhaps etrusco can add that feature to his software. My personal faves are #6 and #7.

interesting trend noticed:
both 5 and 7 have the camera moving for the shot with no post processing.

- @ AM - What do you define as Post Processing? Does your definition include "cropping"?

- @ All - The Top 10 can be The Top 5 or Top 100(!) - if people want 1photo from 1 photographer per month, then whoever posts the Top "Whatever" can delete and change the number ranking.

This is the TOP 8 with one picture/photographer:
(I left the original ranking #'s that were obtained for April.)

The top 10 by ten different photographers is a nice looking list. Just a shame that it's missing Bob's Rite Of Spring shot, which I thought was truly exceptional. That aside, perhaps this is the way to go for next time.
(Edit: That should be "top 8 by eight" - apologies for my inability to read properly!)

my personal definition of post processing is anythign you can do in a dark room with basic equipment. croppign ios okay. with regaurd to photgraphs with special effects

I am a sucker for special effects that happen in camera. last month we saw a great picture from an iPhone.

James I like this way of presenting the top ten in the future. It lets me see the most notable contributions from the active members. I have been a vocal critic of the current system and advocated that I don't see a better way. I don't knwo how other's feel.

I agree with andy about the rites of spring picture. I think it wasn't as "interesting" because it isn't all that special as a thumbnail. there is this art to making your picture grab people's attention as a thumbnail. I don't know if an algorithm can correct for this.
