Drag to set position!

wemily30 ADMIN May 21, 2007
I've had a few requests to keep this group open a little longer--so we'll now be taking in stairways photos until the end of June.
And thanks to those of you that that made it to Stairway Day with the City Guides on May 5th--about 175 people overall showed up to traipse around the hidden corners of San Francisco--so I hope to see some images from that posted soon.

Group Description

An exploration of the city by it's outdoor steps.

There's over 600 public stairways in this town--lucky us!--so let them be the vantage point for framing both your camera shot and your urban exploration.

Entire rows of stair-steps don't necessarily have to be in the photo....as pointed out recently by one group member, steps, by architectural definition, can start to look the same after awhile.

So you should have at least a snippet or more of outdoor stairways in your image. Although, stairs or no stairs, if you can explain why your photo is connected to the group, then anything you discover along the way is fair game.

Here's to secret passageways and unexpected destinations,

Photo Contest--We'll be announcing a winner after Stairway Day on May 5th, a FREE city-wide event led by San Francisco CIty Guides and SF's step-climber nonpareil--Adah Bakalinsky, author of "Stairway Walks in San Francisco."
For more on Stairway Day and some samples of Adah's routes please check out the link below by May 6th (I know, I know, I keep extending this date.)
