Group Description

Established in 1997, the Spectrum Scholarship Program is the American Library Association's national diversity and recruitment effort designed to address the specific issue of under-representation of critically needed ethnic librarians within the profession while serving as a model for ways to bring attention to larger diversity issues in the future.

Since 1997, ALA has awarded over 675 Spectrum Scholarships. Spectrum Scholars reside, study and work all across North America in a wide array of library positions in every type of library. Spectrum - The Future is Overdue!
