ambassadors of good-will between the two countries, Britons with American roots. In this category enter the irish before 1922, the year when ireland became independent.
the second category are the Americans who came to Britain - some settled here and became naturalised citizens and politicians (in Parliament - House of Commons and House of Lords) others opened businesses, bought media groups or football clubs. American writers and painters or drama artists, film directors, critics. American soldiers who fought in the two world wars. American ambassadors of good-will or diplomats and politicians who lived temporarily in the British isles or came to visit with a mission.
The materials accepted could be portraits, works of art (paintings, sculptures), pictures of houses where they lived, blue plaques, memorials, museum exhibits, streets named after, buildings built by, books written,

Like in ANY relationship there were ups and downs in politics which affected such special relationship which cooled down temporarily at official level ior among a section of the population or media - wheher the period of isolationism prior to the first and second world wars, or the wars in Vietnam or Irak - These aspects are OUTSIDE the scope of this group and should be referred to any other suitable group.
Any such material will be refused entry or will be deleted. Persistent offennders will be banned.
