I find my H1's flash a bit too strong at times. So I made my own flash diffuser - which should work with all Sony H series cameras. You can see a picture of it here:

The diffuser (in the orientation shown) sits on the lens barrel and the elastic band slips underneath the eyepiece. It has two layers of the plastic. The only glue I had on hand that worked was contact cement. Doesn't look pretty. But it works. See the picture's Details for more.

The nice thing is that its free.

I just bought "Digital Magazine" today and it has a how to on making your own flash diffuser with a .............milk carton!!!
I will try it when the milk runs out!! :)
