Flash setting

efficient sign [deleted] says:

For some reason the flash is forced off on my camera and the camera will not allow me to change the flash. I would like to turn it on automatic. Here is the message that comes up when I try to change the flash... FLASH SETTING CAN NOT BE CHANGED.... I have fiddled with it all day. I know its got to be something really easy but so far I haven't hit on the righ thing yet. Any ideas out there?
Thanks!
Ally

what mode do you have it on? Certain modes will not let you use flash, and some will force you to use flash only. I have an H2, but they're not that different.

i have tried on all modes and none of them will let me... right now I have it on P (program auto). I also like to use A (automatic) but I have gone through absolutely all my settings and none of them will let me change it.

Thanks Phydeaux & Ms. Cheska for your help. If there aren't any BRILLIANT ideas posted by the time I get home from church I think I"ll initialize. Hubby's ears will burn hot while I am doing that since he is the one who had the camera for 2 weeks. grrrrrrr He SAYS he knows how to change the flash settings but that he has to be here to do it, he can't just tell me. *rolls eyes* but I do not want to wait until Tuesday to have flash. :) I'm impatient that way!
