My guess is that the two cameras are very closely matched. You will find things you like better about each.

Right off the bat though I would warn you that most people who have shot with conventional DSLR's find the grip of the A330 to be too small. I'm the opposite. I find that as light has cameras have gotten over the past few years that the grip of the A330 is great.

I used to shoot with the D70 and find that the A330 though much cheaper original MSRP is superior in most ways. That being said I don't think they A330 is much of a step up from a D60. It will be more of a give and take.

I know it's a gift... but if you want a nice step up from your D60 I would look at the Sony A500 or A550. I wanna say about 300 bucks more than the A330 but a lot more camera.

Oh I didn't get to your whole post. As far as accessories and good placed to look for reviews.

www.dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp

Dyxum is the site you will want to go to for lens reviews by actual users. They will have anywhere from 20 to 60 reviews sometime from people who own just about any Sony or Minolta A-mount lens out there.

www.alphamountworld.com/

Alpha Mount World is also a great resource for Sony gear.

www.flickr.com/groups/sony_alpha/

The Sony Alpha group here at Flickr is a great place to get your questions answered... post any question Sony related and your bound go have a dozen answers within a day. Be warned you will have to sift though a lot of bogus answers from people who just want to show off how much they "think" they know.

Ok thanks I will check out these sites, see as far as it being a step up, I am not sure if that's what I want or not...now I have been nagging my fiance I about another DSLR for months, I got 2 Kodak advanced point n shoots in the process which i love. I mean who doesn't want a better camera than the one they have, I just don't know if it wise of us to do that, as I am not sooo great yet haha, I think I may try it, as he is paying for it from QVC and see how I like it, he bought it mainly as he said I should learn other systems..lol love him!!! If I don't think much of it I will return it and buy bigger...lol, but thanks so much for the input and advice :) greatly appreciated
