Hello everyone!

Sorry about not having a meeting in July, I was dealing with a few family health issues, and I was just not able to find the time to plan something. However, we will be having an event in August! We will be meeting on August 20th @ 10:00 AM to Hike to Donut Falls, we have done this Hike the previous two years and have always had a great time, I hope to see you there.

Mill D Trailhead
Drive about 9 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, to the signed Mill D Trailhead. If you come during the busy season you may need to park here; parking is limited at the smaller, Donut Falls Trailhead just up the road. From the Mill D Trailhead, drive or hike up the paved, gated Mill D South Fork Road, past the Jordan Pines picnic area. You'll pass summer homes. This road is usually plowed during winter months.

Donut Falls Trailhead
After about .75 miles, the Mill D South Fork Road becomes dirt road. After another 200 yards you'll find the small Donut Falls trailhead parking area. At that point you leave the dirt road and follow the obvious trail that begins by the information kiosk.

Donut Falls
From the Donut Falls trailhead, follow the well-marked trail for about .5 miles to Donut Falls. The trail follows an old four-wheel-drive route for a time. Return the way you came.

This is a easy little hike, I would still suggest you bring water and some snacks though. If anyone would like, we can meet at the park and ride lot at 9:15 at the base of the canyon. If you have any questions, please call me (8015207731) or email back, I will do my best to get back to you asap! I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer, and I look forward to seeing you!

How long do you think your going to be up there at the falls? I can not leave town until Noon have to help with some morning classes. I think I will make my way up there. I may see you all on your way down but that will be ok.

Let me know how long your planning to be there.
