Drag to set position!

erin@sewathomemummy ADMIN February 18, 2013
This Bee was lovingly organized by Erin @ Sew at Home Mummy

This is a regionally-grouped international bee with 109 participants. The participants are required to only use solid-colored fabrics in their block constructions.

The Bee is full, but! I am accepting alternates. Please contact me via FM if you are interested.

This group discussion is for members only.

Group Description

This bee will be in the spirit of the modern movement: all fabrics used each month will be solids - no patterns or blenders, etc, allowed. Get your Kona and Bella color cards ready!

Please visit: Sew at Home Mummy for more information

Please read the rules/requirements carefully before signing up; this is a 12-month commitment, starting February 1, 2013.

All Bee members will require an active Flikr account.

Bee Particulars:
Each Bee group will consist of 12 members, each assigned a month out of the year, starting February 1, 2013. Your members will be sorted geographically into regions and assigned to Bee groups. You will be notified by January 5, 2013 (at the latest), of which group you're in. You will, as a group of 12, have 5 days (until January 10, 2013 at midnight EST) to decide which months you'd each prefer and post them to Flikr. A month assignment list will then be posted in your groups thread by the moderator (me!)

Please read carefully
When it’s your month:
1.Please tell the group what block pattern you want them to make, and post instructions or links to online tutorials for them by the first of your month.

all fabrics used in the building of blocks must be quilting-quality cotton SOLIDS only

2.Tell the group your fabric requirements – either:

a.Send your fabrics out to the group, each person receiving enough to construct one block; please specify if people should send back any unused scraps to you. If you decide for the group to use your fabrics, please send them out to everyone by the 28th of the month prior. Please send your fabrics out in a zip-loc bag to protect them from the elements.

b.Tell your group to stash-bust. If you opt for this choice, keep in mind you have no say in which colored fabrics are used. Your group will use fabrics from their stash; you may specify how many colors are used, but not which colors. If you decide to go with the stash-bust, please limit your block sizes to no bigger than 12.5” x 12.5”.

3.Completed blocks must be sent back to their rightful owner by the 28th of the month. Please send your blocks in a zip-loc bag to protect it from the elements.

4. As blocks are constructed by members, they should be posted to the "Simply Solids" Flikr stream. This allows the other group members to see what everyone else is up to!
