UPDATED Rules and Guidelines for Swaps.

You can make any type of quilt you like. It can be a whimsy, traditional block, modern, crazy quilt, pieced, appliqué, whatever - only rule is that you must have fun making it!

The quilt should measure no less than 12"x 12" and no more than 20" x 20". The sides can be any combination of this. For instance you may wish to make a quilt 12"X 20" as a wall hanging or table runner. That's fine. You may want to do curved edges or a circle, that's fine too, as long as it is still within these measurements. (For a circle the measurement across the widest part would be used) But, hey... we aren't going to send out the measurement police to check if you are a fraction of an inch over or under.

All quilts must be bound and quilted.

It is recommended but not essential that a label and some form of hanging sleeve / tabs be attached.

Good quality fabrics must be used - fabrics other than cotton may be used if they suit the style of quilt. ie brocades for crazy quilts etc

Quilts can have hand or machine embroidery and embellishments such as buttons, beads, and ribbons if you wish to add them.

While keeping in mind that everyone in the group has a different amount of experience it is required that the quilt you swap must be made to the best of your abilities. Shoddy workmanship will not be tolerated.

You may be required to post internationally. This is not an option. If you have any problem with this, then please reconsider joining in the swap.

You may join in at any time, as long as your quilt is finished and a photograph has been emailed to the swap mama in time to be placed in the group pool before voting starts.

You may make one or two quilts to swap each round.

Anyone who has a quilt in the swap who does not vote by the closing date given will have their quilt removed from the swap.

All quilts must be posted out by the deadline date which will be given once votes are counted and names of those receiving your quilt has been emailed. Failure to do so will mean that the late poster will not be able to join in the next swap. For repeated late posting the person will be removed from the group.

I know it's fun to 'guess' who made which quilt, but please can everyone not put comments on entries until AFTER the voting has finished.

One of the reasons we keep the makers of the quilts secret is so that no one is influenced to vote for their favourite person, or friends. After voting has finished, then it is fine to guess, in fact I'm happy if we have a thread specifically for that.

TO ENTER:
Once your quilt is finished please email one clear photograph of it to
janbran22@bigpond.com
In the email please give the following information:-
Name of Quilt.
Size of Quilt
Your Flickr ID
Description: (optional ) if you wish to add anything about your quilt you may do so. ie hand quilted, hand embroidered, fabrics used, if hanging sleeve attached and so on.

We were going to start on the 15th September and go to 28th October, but I'm going to start it on 10th September and go to 25th October in stead as I'm going to be away from home, with limited computer time next week. I will be at a quilting weekend on 23rd - 25th October as well so can spend the day after I get home on the computer putting up the last photos that come in and getting the voting started.
