Those are some great abandoned houses. I have a few in my archives, just need to find them and scan. The best place I had visited was an old Sugar Factory and ice cream plant ( I know not a house, but is a decaying building). These places are quickly dissapearing from the ability to be photographed as people are tearing them down.

These are all great houses. I, too, love going in old houses and have gone into many over the years. However, most in my area of Maine have been torn down and replaced by new homes. I really have to struggle to find a home in a 80 miles radius that I haven't seen or been in. Some are amazing because it's as if the people just disappeared. The houses are full of everything from clothes, appliances, furniture, and pictures all slowly rotting away. Great pics......I've gotta go out on a hunt again for some new places,

Although I also love taking photos of abandoned, rural houses here in Nebraska (we have a lot), I find that it becomes difficult to make it a truly "different" image. What I often do is actually take photographs of whatever is left behind inside. Here is something I found left behind in an abandoned church near Lincoln, NE.

I've become obsessed with photographing abandoned places. I've always been empathetic toward them-my heart drops when I see a beautiful old house falling down.
The majority of my stuff here is recently shot from backroads all over New Jersey.
This particular house was a fantastic find-all sorts of antiques in and around it, but almost totally in disrepair.

This old farm found itself in the path of "progress" on the outskirts of Ottawa. Indeed, the barn seen through the door collapsed entirely in a wind storm less than a week after I took this picture.

From one ruin to the other

The rest of the buildings are still there... for now, although a couple of the fields are already being torn up for a new subdivision. Because if there is one thing that we need, it seems, it is ....more urban sprawl.
