Man-Wei ADMIN September 21, 2015
Wow, the group membership has reached 300 (Sept 22nd 2015) and counting. There are so many high quality street photography images uploaded to this group. They inspire me to take my Rollei TLR out and explore the street.

I have also been moderating the uploaded images. I do wish to keep the photo pool true to its genre; that is "Street Photography".

So please read the Group Rules. And if there are questions, don't hesitate to FlickrMail me.

Group Description

This group is for members to show case their street photographs captured with a Rolleiflex or Rolleicord Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) camera. Street photographs captured in the spirit of: Diane Arbus, Werner Bischoff, Leon Levinstein, Vivian Maier, Lisette Model and many others.

The pool will be curated a bit, since there are enough "dump and run" groups on flickr. The intention is to create a pool which is a pleasure to browse. To be honest, I'm not even sure if my own images are up to the standard - probably not ;-)

Also feel free to discuss all things (street) photography here in the forum. It would be nice to get to know the people a bit and share tips, techniques and advice.

Group Rules

Jan 2014

- The image needs to have an urban and human element.

- The photo can be candid of which it needs an element of spontaneity and uncertainty. Alternatively, it may be a depiction of a reportage, as in a form of social documentary or photojournalism.

- The image should elicit some sort of reaction, curiosity, feeling, emotion or question. It should suggest a narrative and leave the viewer with that sense of humanity in the image.

- The image may or may not have people in it. However, the presence of human must be felt and it should tell a story about life and humanity or social issue and concern even in absence of people.

This is where Cityscape and Urban Architecture images withdraw from the genre of Street Photography. Sure they have human element but in most cases lacking that most important story telling, human interest element.

Please include the model of the camera used.
