Group Description

Welcome to the Restaurant Mascot Extravaganza!

This group is an historical reference and collection of restaurant advertising characters, past and present. I want to see all of those cool and crazy mascots designed specifically to represent restaurants.

So many restaurants are phasing out their old mascots, tossing them out like stale hamburgers. Let's build an archive to store and remember them all!

** What kind of mascots? ** Anything from familiar friends -- such as Ronald McDonald, Mayor McCheese, Colonel Sanders and the Big Boy -- to fun and oddball examples of regional and local favorites. Maybe a dancing chicken, a smiling clam, a talking hamburger man... you get the idea! All are welcome.

** What kind of restaurants? ** Mascots can be from traditional restaurants, drive-ins, fast food joints, walk-up food stands, big chains and independents, forgotten landmarks and defunct dives of yesteryear.

** What kind of restaurant mascot pictures? ** Things like character statues, signs, meal packaging, advertisements, costumed character photos, playground equipment, toys, premiums, matchbooks, other ephemera and collectibles -- really anything provided that it includes a restaurant mascot.

Simple Rules
- all photos must contain a restaurant mascot
- restaurant mascots must be in-house characters designed to represent a restaurant
- no movie or television character restaurant cross-promotions (like most current happy meals)
- include restaurant and character names in the descriptions and tags, please

Photos that do not fall within the guidelines will be politely removed. (Nothing personal)

P.S. -- YES! I *would* like fries with that!
