Group Description
For anyone interested in Polaroid image and emulsion transfers. We hope to foster discussion of images as well as techniques. Please share your tips and experiences (and your images!).Polaroid image and emulsion transfers require Polaroid peel-apart pack film (600- and 80-series are most popular) or similar Fuji film (FP-100C).
An emulsion transfer (or emulsion lift) is when a developed Polaroid print has been soaked in hot water until the top emulsion layer floats off of the backing. Once the top layer is loose, it can be transferred and manipulated to a new surface.
An image transfer is when the Polaroid development process is interrupted and the "negative" is placed on another material (usually paper). The dyes that will form the image are encouraged to transfer by the use of heat and pressure.
If you did not do either of the above processes, your image does not belong in this group.
