We have massive catching up to do with the group-- apologies. Thanks to everyone who's sticking with us despite the somewhat chaotic start to the year.
Without further delay, here's a very small selection of some of the pictures that caught my eye in the first two months of 2014.
With all the rain so far this year, there's also been a lot of rainbows, ...

Apologies for the tardiness of this post, but we wanted to do an informal poll to see if people were interested in continuing with the project.
Personally, I've continued to take a picture every week. I like that it's one picture per week, as it's a Flickr challenge that I can actually do. I've managed (just) to get a picture for the first ...
As you saw from Helen's 1:2013 post the guardian 52 weeks project is continuing this year.
As a contributor for the duration of the 2012 project I am very pleased to have the opportunity to continue to try to view the world in a different light. As an admin I'm looking forward to getting to know you and viewing some fantastic pictures.
If you have any que...
Thanks for coming to visit or joining this group - here are lots of great photo projects on Flickr helping you to document the year - including:

Here's a reminder of what we are looking for when submitting to the group. All photos are reviewed by administrators so please remember to follow these guidelines.

Happy New Year!
Just a reminder to add your final photos to the group before we have an end of year round up! Well done to everyone who has taken part and completed the project - it's brilliant following your year in photos!
Once everyone's photos are added to the group, we'll get a year's review underway and share it with you all.
Evening all and welcome to my final round-up of the 2013 52 Weeks group,
The pictures submitted this week had a haze which I think reflects the bright lights hitting the cold, wet air of winter.
We've reached the last few days of 2013 and it's a time of reflection for me. I thought Jocopelondon's picture is also quite reflective:
Well, I really looked forward to this project, a photo a week. It all started off excitedly well and the my health went downhill and I didn't have the energy to do anything. Blood levels dropped so low it was an effort just to walk a few yards. However, now on some new meds, which seem to be doing the trick, as I feel a lot more energetic, I hope to get back into the swi...
Week 50 certainly was atmospheric, between all of the Christmas lights and the fog that rolled into the country (and stranded many people at airports).
David K. Hardman captured the fog at Stratford station:
JoCopeLondon got an atmospheric black and white shot:
Hello everyone…sorry about the delay with the round up. I had issues loading and logging into Flickr earlier in the week but hopefully that’s all sorted.
There seems to have been a lot of protest about the beta changes being rolled out and photo streams looking different. I’m actually finding the changes quite good - any have any thoughts?
Anyway back to the ...
Well it's December. That's terrifying! Where did 2013 go?
There was an outdoor theme this week. Winter is here and with that comes fresh, crisp and often clear days with perfect natural colours.
Kolev nicola's picture, 'Belgrade Morning', is an excellent example of this:
This picture is refreshing considering the recent tragedies in Britain. Ma...
As we march toward the shortest day of the year, the light is getting more and more precious. Our photographers captured some great light-- both natural and artificial-- this week.
JoCopeLondon got this colourful snap of Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. It's just the sort of thing to cheer someone up on a grey day:
So the nights are drawing in as we reach the final few weeks of the project. Doesn’t time just fly by!
There have been a few street photos submitted this week that I thought I’d share with you. I stumbled across a website this week called ‘Humans of New York’ which is a street photography project trying to
create a catalogue of all those resident in the city....
Today is Remembrance Day. There's not a great deal I can add to that. Thanks to xargla for this picture showing the 95 year old tradition from the view of younger attendees:
The conscientious objector was also remembered for their bravery. (thanks to Gideon Hallett):
As October ends and November begins, we saw a lot of orange in the 52 Weeks feed capturing Week 44 of 2013.
Although the trees in my neck of the woods (London, if you're wondering), seem to be taking their own sweet time in turning autumnal orange, a few photographers found some in their own local trees.
OverTheMoon captured this lovely forest scene in Switzerland:
Oh these autumn nights are drawing in which means we’re on the final run in for the project! Well done to everyone who is keeping going - not long left to go!
I noticed these two photos capturing interesting effects:
and by Gideon Hallett:
how are we? The international space station is over the UK again throughout October so I hope to see some pictures in the group soon (hint hint!)
Moving on to week 42's picture.....
Thanks to BLTP Photo for this light trail through St Paul's. When I first saw this I thought of the contrast of life speeding past this majestic building that will outlive us a...
Our pool photographers submitted some beautiful vistas for Week 41.
Davoski captured some nice autumnal flare in Ivinghoe Beacon:
JoCopeLondon took a snap of the Battersea Power Station in all its lit up glory:
Autumn is well and truly here. We had some great pictures in the pool for week 40 that showed some autumnal colour.
Daviocious went to her macro setting to get these autumnal colours:
Loyal-royal contrasted a dead brown leaf with some vibrant green grass:
