Relive your childhood memories and celebrate the holidays with Lake Metroparks this year at the Candy Wonder Land exhibit, featuring scenes inspired by everyone's favorite childhood board game, Candy Land.
This elaborate holiday exhibit, back by popular demand, drew more than 20,000 visitors in 2005 and 21,000 in 2006. Play along with the family on a life-sized game board as you pass through peppermint woods cross over gumdrop mountains, travel through lollipop forest and wind your way down the colorful trail to home sweet home in this holiday display.

Exhibit opens Saturday, November 17. Exhibit hours are Noon to 5:00 p.m. daily through January 1, 2008. The exhibit has special hours Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (noon to 3:00 p.m.) and is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Dave Fleischer, assistant professor of digital arts/animation at the Cleveland Institute of Art (and great nephew of legendary animators Dave and Max Fleischer), presents a program of classic cartoons and animated short films from around the world. Beginning with two silent masterpieces, Winsor McCay's Gertie the Dinosaur (1914) and Ladislaw Starewicz's The Cameraman's Revenge (1912), and continuing through Hollywood studio cartoons and some notable independents, Fleischer will introduce and discuss some of the most inventive - and downright wild - work ever done in this field. 35mm/16mm. The Murphy Irish Arts Center in Beachwood is preparing to send 32 local children to the 2008 World Irish Dancing Championships in Belfast.
"Jump the Pond" will help support possibly the largest airlift of dancers ever sent to the worlds by an Ohio Irish dance school.

The brew-tasting and silent auction runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Willoughby Brewing Co., 4057 Erie St., Willoughby. Wasted at the Wake will play.
