When he went to the library he should have found a copy of the US Constitution and let the utility workers look at it. Maybe they aren't familiar with it.

I wonder if these people realize how dangerous confronting a real terrorist could be?
I let my employer know, years ago, that they didn't pay me enough to endanger my life attempting to talk suspicious people.
On one occasion, in eighteen years, did I ever encounter a suspicious person not wearing a security badge. I walk right past him, went directly to a telephone, called security, and they took care of it. The guy was an outside contractor who forgot to put his badge on.

What I find particularly worrying is that they seem to have interviewed all sorts of officials, and not one single one of them has said "hold on, we used to have personal freedom in this country". I can understand security guys etc can get things wrong, but this is just amazing (and not in a good way!)

Somebody might hijack a water tower and fly it into the Sears Building.

Nerdy hobby?
I wonder how many cameras there are in this world, and what they get used for? Can there be that many nerds in this world?
I must have a dozen cameras, ranging from an old Brownie to a modern 4:3 Pen.

I guess that one-horse town mayor and his water dept manager have never been to museums:

Too bad there are no photo rights activists in the area to organize a protest march on their city hall!

I would have told them that they were free to call the police if they wanted to, but if they didn't stop harassing me, I was going to call them myself.

A picture of a hysterical water dude would probably have been better than a picture of another water tower.

The workers should have just snapped a picture of Ed and his car if they were worried. It would have been their right to do that.

Otherwise this is so stupid, the only way to do any harm is to physically harm the water system. I'm assuming there is a fence around the tower, so barring a rocket launcher He can't get near the tower.

Screw driving through it from time to time, somebody needs to take a D-10 Cat and drive OVER it for sending Spears out in the world.

If anyone's got one, I know how to operate it

Britney Spears.
Louisiana.

That explains everything.

So, now we need to use the D-10 to wipe out a place where utility workers can harrass people for taking pictures AND another stupid town in Loozyanna, for giving us a bimbo.

Any other towns named Kentwood we need to be worried about?

Happy Tinfoil Cat says:

God help us. I'm so tired of dealing with imbeciles at work I don't need the hassle of dealing with them on my time off. Fuck them! They've completely forgotten who they work for. Their little power trip on some iota of imaginary authority will get their asses kicked following me around. First, they are the suspicious ones and had better give me their names and explanation of their activities. They say they need to know the "intent" of the photos... well there is no way to prove the intent of a photo and any terrorist can say anything they want. It's not even perjury or making a false police report even if a blatant lie. I'd call 911 first and tell them I'm being accosted, harassed, and stalked, my location and "send an ambulance".

The dipshit policy comes from the top:

Favorite comment from that article:

"Welcome to the snitch society. Neighbors spying on neighbors, children snitching on their parents. As someone who immigrated from Eastern Europe I see way too many similarities in the USSA."

USSA?

Love it. :)

"But Mayor Richard Root said ... he was proud of city workers for their diligence, adding that they responded appropriately."

I believe he is actually sorry the self-appointed vigilantes didn't actually string up that terrorist and start waterboarding the corpse. After all, something could have been wrong, and obviously there was no time to call the police (who have better things to do, like eat donuts.)

I think it would be more fun to learn how to operate it on the town!
