I have been asked by a client to create a video DVD with video, music and still photos. Does anyone have any suggestions for software that will handle this. I was thinking about Adobe Premiere but I want to look at other solutions that may be a little "easier" to use with maybe not so many features?

I am worried that Premiere has soooo much in it that it may take a while to learn.

This would be on a PC

Thanks for any help

When you say "easier" I immediately thought of iDVD. Not Adobe or other big $$$$ program but it can do what I need it to do, not sure if it will meet all your needs but a very capable program.

I have used it to make DVD's for friends and family in just 15 minutes. View the tutorial I link below and if it is something that might meet your needs then let me know. You are welcome to take home my MacBook Pro to produce your discs.

Good Luck!

Dave, if you have Windows XP (or a later version) you already have an easy application, it's called "Windows Movie Maker". The one caveat being as I recall, it doesn't prepare and burn the DVD to be Video-DVD compliant for DVD players.

There is a guide on burning a MS Movie Maker movie to DVD here: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/savet... (the assumption in this guide is that your PC may already have software that can burn DVD for you).

Microsoft also has the "free" Photo Story 3 (www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/Phot...)

There is also a guide on how to use Photo Story 3 to burn a DVD (though this assumes you have purchased the $19.99 Sonic plug-in, again you may already have software on your PC that can burn a DVD for you):http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/DigCameraPhotostorytoDVD_StepByStep.aspx

OK, I figure that gives you some options to consider. :-)

I have used ProShow Producer for several years and been very happy.

@ ShutterCraze, thanks for the offer but this is going to be an on going video that I am going to put together over time.

@ mitsve, I have heard good things about ProShow Producer so I will download the demo and see what I think.

Thanks everyone
