Anyone out there knows how to get the Vivitar 285 plastic foot replaced with metal foot? I mean I did not notice it was plastic foot until it broke when I took outdoor strobe work, and wind blew the umbrella and it fell then the plastic foot broke.

vivitar 285's are notorious for broken feet and as for a place to get it fixed, possibly camera works, advanced or any local camera shop..i'd just call around. Or you could just save yourself the time and buy a new one...there cheap enough

Thank you Jeff, I like everything else from the flash, I do not quite understand why Vivitar choose to use plastic foot, we all know this piece is easy to break.

The chose to use the plastic foot, thinking it better to break the foot, than to tear off the top of your camera. However, the metal replacement feet do work very well.

I would recommend to use nano material in the future, will dent the ground, not breaking the flash
