It is only one of two rules that the group has put forth.

I have seen many different people post photos to the group pool over the last few weeks that have no lighting info on them at all. I have brought this up to Jeff, but I don't want to be Mr. Tattletale and I'm sure he doesn't want to have to take the time to remind people constantly (I'm just assuming, he has not said anything to me about it.)

This group is here to help us all learn to be better strobists and we can't do that without understanding how people achieve a given look in their photographs.

A look through the gallery will show there are many regular contributors that put lighting info with their posts. They are spending extra time that they could be doing other things so that all of us can become better photographers. A big thanks to them and please, honor these guys and gals by following the rules of the group.

I am not sure if people appreciate my info but I like to give three basic tidbits about my shots and they are my lighting info, my camera settings, and camera gear I used for the shot. All that thinking and typing takes me roughly one minute per photo, not a big deal for me. I do this because it may give someone an easy exercise to reverse engineer my shooting in their head, and maybe walk away with something. But by no means do I consider my stuff teaching material, I learn sometimes by mimicking.

my 2 cents.

Photograph the Verb,

I'm not sure who you are, as we haven't met, but I realize that over the past week I have been guilty as charged. I just now went back and added strobist information to the shots in question.

That is a good thing Ken, because my finger was on the delete button for your shots.

All jokes aside PtV has a point.

Thanks for the post "Photograph the Verb" and in the future I hope everyone within the group can help regulate the photographs being posted in the group without lighting info (just add a comment to their photo regarding "pdx strobist" and lighting info. Because honestly I hate being the bearer of bad news and always feel like the bad guy when telling people to "please add lighting info"
